1/2" PVC GoPro Pole Cam Mount

This is a press - fit mount to go onto 1/2 inch PVC pipe. I set out with the idea of making a pole cam mount as cheap and painless as possible. I was inspired by longboarding and wanted a cheaper solution than the product that GoPro sells and some of the other versions here on Shapeways. This is a press fit connection that completely surrounds the PVC pipe. The other inspiration into this was to make having a pole cam easily accessible to anyone. A 5ft section of 1/2 inch PVC is less than $2.00 at a hardware store. This allows anyone to have a cheap pole cam mount for any action sports or just to get video from a different vantage point. You simply take the nut and bolt from your current GoPro connector and insert them into this. Note: If there is variance in PVC diameter (shouldn't be too much of an issue), you can sand down the PVC until it makes a snug fit. You can also add super glue or an epoxy in order to permanently attach the printed mount to the PVC pipe. Image shown was printed on a 3D printer on campus, not at Shapeways.
