Product Description
Do the Jitterbug! Discover the amazing transforming geometry of the jitterbug, popularized by R. Buckminster Fuller.
Morphs fluidly from an octahedron in its collapsed position, to a cuboctahedron in its expanded position.
Design Notes Printed as one piece, fully jointed and articulated.
The joints are somewhat loose due to of the tolerances necessary to print assembled.
Because of the shape of the hinge caps, the model will probably arrive with some of the support material still in embedded in the joints (It arrived this way for me). They might feel tight or even fused, but they are not.
Each joint simply needs to be moved gently but firmly to loosen the uncured powder, allowing it to fall away. After this, the joints are actually quite loose and free.
*I've only printed this in white, but it ought to work fine in black too. Once I try it in other materials (specifically, the polished strong and flexible colors), I'll enable them as well.
