T43p x8 N scale 1855-80 "V&T 9 style" 6' pass truc

4 pairs of N scale wooden bolster equalized passenger trucks of a common design used for short-to medium length cars from the 1850s to 1875 or later. These mount with a common bolster pin, or use the pins included. Modeled after those under Virginia & Truckee car No.9 at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, with iron parts locally made, possibly after a Harlan & Hollingsworth pattern. Although the prototype truck dates to 1873, its construction is no different than those built almost 20 years earlier, excepting the coil springs which were rare before the post-Civil War era of cheap steel. Has a 6 foot wheelbase, outside brakes, and stars on the screw-on journal lids like on the prototype.

Requires 33" wheelsets with .540"/13.70mm length axles (MTL, Fox Valley 3301) and low or MTL new standard profile flanges. A 36" will fit, snugly, but not much used with this design.
Because of their small size and fine detail, Frosted Ultra Detail is the preferred material, others will show varying degrees of surface roughness or not print at all. Clean with alcohol before painting, a cheap ultrasonic cleaner works great. Use toothbrush soaked in Bestine rubber cement remover if particularly greasy. Enamels or acrylics recommended.
