About this Product

This is one of three sets of pieces for the Quintessence family of burr puzzles. The other two sets are available here. See the video for more details. The manual lists some of the puzzles that can be built with these sets.

Note that Quintessence is printed at a larger (incompatible!) scale than the original 30-cell puzzle - we had to scale up because of the smaller dodecahedra in the center that are not present in the 30-cell puzzle.

@henryseg It works great on my copy, holds together and no gap. I would just add "Can add 2 x equator." at the end of the Dc30 ring description ... I just made a Dc30 Star, not too hard ...

@gibell right, I think we decided that we preferred the look of it without the equator - it looks less likely that it would hold together on its own. Originally, we had a single piece for the equator and fit the 5 outer 6s inside it, but it didn't fit together so cleanly for some reason - do you get a gap between the two equator pieces?

@henryseg You probably already know this, but you can add the two equator pieces to a Dc30 Ring to make a Dc40 Ring.

Wow! I bought the entire Quintessence series and am quite impressed. The puzzles are not easy. So far I have managed to complete only the DC30 Ring, DC24 Pulsar and DC36 Inner Pulsar. The completed puzzles hold together well. This is an amazing series of interlocking puzzles! I can't imagine how you thought of all these!
