One 1/144 scale Albatros J.I WWI ground-attack aeroplanes with crew: an observer with a Parabellum machine gun and a pilot. -- The Albatros J.I was a 1918 aeroplane with an armored cockpit, supplementing the Junkers J.I and A.E.G. J.I in the ground attack and contact patrol role.

Well, I supplied a list to both Colinwe and Jagdfflieger that helped them fill in a lot of the gaps that were there when I discovered Shapeways. There are not a lot of glaring gaps I see left in WW1-- and JF has produced a whole lot of "made one or two but never flew in combat" planes because of that. But I'll give it some thought. Ares finally has Series 1 out but, given the quality I have seen, I think there is still a market for a good DR1. I do know there is a lot of dissatisfaction with Shapeways versions of some critically important planes, like the two I mentioned, the Bristol Fighter...

Thanks! For a while, I think I can avoid stepping on anyone else's turf by "filling in the gaps", eventually I'll run out. Then we'll see. By the way, that detail comes out a lot more evidently in FUD (Frosted Ultra Detail) than it does in WSF (White,Strong,Flexible). I have a FUD Junkers J.I in 1/144 that really pops.

Man, I love your stuff. Have you thought about redoing the Fokker D7 and Dr1? Those were some of the first Shapeways models I think and they are not very good-- seem extremely prone to stepping and both would benefit from your detail.

Thanks, I'm just waiting on a test print of an updated observer's gun, to see if I need to thicken it further for reliable printing. Otherwise my copy came out well.
