@barbecuesteve filing down the inside to remove purple fuzz worked. The adapter is 17.54 mm x 7.64 mm, but the opening in the holder measured 17.11 mm x 7.30 mm. Maybe the color finishes' thickness varies? Anyway, happily clipped now, post-mod. Maybe a D-shaped cross-section of the surrounding band would help.

@jmsaltzman I am still waiting for my new colored samples to arrive (they should be here any day now.) I hadn't noticed color residue on my wife's red one, but I'll ask her about it. Re: not fitting, it may still be snug, but it would definitely fit in. The earlier design was smaller and with work, it would fit and stay. Please, give it another go. In any event, I'm sorry you're having trouble with it.

The adapter does not fit! I got it in "violet purple strong & flexible polished" which leaves purple dust on the cord.

mccarron, I just updated the model to add 0.2mm of length to it. I've ordered parts to see if it helps, but I think it'll help.

I think the design of this needs to be tweaked a bit, many here said it was extremely tight but mine wouldn't fit at all. (Printed in Alumide) It finally broke on me when trying to put it in. It's a great idea, just hope to see it improved.

I put mine in boiling water to soften it up a bit and after that the fit was great. Like @barbecuesteve says you'll shave off a bit of material, but that ensures it won't come off easy. I love my adapter!

A quick usage note: The adapter is designed for a VERY snug fit. In fact, when you insert the adapter into the clip, you will remove a small amount of material from the inside corners of the clip. It will take some work and patience to get the adapter into the clip. But once it's in, it will be very snug, and should hold for a lifetime of usage.
