@CaptainRiterraSmith Thanks Captain! :) If you are looking for a bigger color spectrum you will need to ask Shapeways to make more colors available.

@BITGEM Thanks so much! Ordering one for now and maybe more in the future. Any chance of green or yellow or cyan? I'm a spectrum completionist. LOL.

@WildWill Awesome! Thanks for the feedback :).

Got the two I ordered today - the polished strong and flexible in blue and red. These are great! The blue was kind of hard to put together, but the red was easy. Great joints.

Definitely gonna try to find a way to get this now, I've checked out some new Lego Star Wars sets, many of the new pieces interest me, including the blasters. Still makes me think what would lego sets be like with more articulated figures. In other words, I'm gonna buy this.

@WildWill Updated the model :)

@CaptainRiterraSmith Updated the model :)

The update is here and it works! :) The figurine has a few extra joints and an alternative head now. The parts are held together with scaffolding (to reduce the chance of small parts getting lost in the print process which was the reason for the item being rejected). I will post proper photos and assembly instructions asap!

@WildWill Likewise. I'll likely reorder when the colors I wanted are availible again.

@WildWill Hi Will! Something must have changed recently in the rules because they were printing just fine before (see photos :) ) But I have a new batch of them in development. Will update this file as soon as the test prints get here (and are good).

Tried to order these and they wouldn't print...so sad.

@riotpatriot Thanks for the feedback! yeah I have a few where some material settled in there which made the joint pop out easier then it should. I scraped it out a little and that helped a lot but yeah... it's still a pretty small joint :). Every print turns out slightly different. So far mine have been consistently sturdy.

Just received a pair of these! The joint from the neck to the torso keeps popping out when I move the head, but otherwise they hold together just fine! Plenty cool!

I really want one the design is so cool. I love the design.

@BITGEM That actually does add a good deal, it makes it a bit more human. As kind of an idea, if you want to try making another head sculpt, maybe just as an alternate head since I am used to this head, I would see about trying a head similar to Spiral Knights heads. The body almost reminds me of Spiral knights, but it's a suggestion, otherwise I wouldn't really change anything with the figure, it's still good :)

@kreator The parts are so small that they will fall through a cage and bearers themselves need to be at least 1mm thick. the material cost of them outweighs the benefit.
December 16, 2013, 12:24 pm
@mechking4511 Thanks man! Yeah the face has been a bit of a critique point. I have been experimenting with some hair... horrible photo I know... to make the face look a little less scary! Still not quite ready yet though as it blocks a lot of the movement. The standard Lego hair styles don't fit on the head currently.

actually, the more I look at it, the more feminine the face starts to look. also one question, can lego helmets fit on their heads?
December 14, 2013, 11:50 am
WOAH, okay, I gotta get this, it looks fricken awesome!!! The only thing that bugs me is the face, but otherwise it looks cool.

It seems there are no bearers / sprues / cage to handle all those small parts in production, since they are not linked to each other. Which such bearers, I wonder if it could be cheaper, or if you could make a x5 bundle. See discussion https://www.shapeways.com/forum/index.php?t=msg&goto=35795 about small part set. Thanks again for the job.

Cool!

@BITGEM agreed, all I have is my iPhone for a camera and it's pretty crap for macro stuff :(
November 26, 2013, 3:14 pm
@wulongti Thanks man! Yeah I'm pretty happy with how they came out. It's just really difficult to take good pictures of small figurines like that.
November 26, 2013, 3:13 pm
@BITGEM these came out really nice :D they look like little aliens or imps or something lol I've added one to my cart and I'm waiting on the Black Friday sales to place the order ^__^
November 26, 2013, 3:04 pm
@wulongti Added some pictures! :)
November 26, 2013, 3:00 pm
@BITGEM sweet! Looking forward to seeing them :D
November 25, 2013, 3:36 pm
@wulongti Just got my prints! The joints finally all work well now. Will post pictures soon! :)
November 25, 2013, 3:35 pm
@BITGEM awesome, are you testing in WSF or WSFP? Trying to get ball joints right in WSFP is just the worst :/ I look forward to the results of your trials :)
November 14, 2013, 9:10 am
@wulongti I'd say it's almost there! I have been through several iterations... All the joints work well except for the neck joint. I fixed it now and ordered some prints for testing. If it's all good I'll make it available for everyone. :)
November 14, 2013, 7:45 am
I wouldn't mind giving this a try, any idea when it will be ready for the public? ^__^
