disappointed! Really can't recommend this battery door. The material is simply too soft and I don't expect it to last very long. The material of the original door is way more solid.

I see what they did here. I got shipped another product you created. A slotted door for batt cables. I've contacted Shapeways to get it all sorted out. The door looks and feels great! And I bought my Phantom in November and the pin was easy to get out. I must admit I watched the video on how it's done several times and started off with the proper tools.

Just got this door in coral red but it has two large notches along each side, where the door meets the phantom. This is not what is pictured and I am worried about dirt, water, debris entering the craft. I'd really like the door as it is pictured and not with these four large notches.

Spanish people buy things here to !. Excelente upgrade para el phantom, parece ser mas liviana que la original y te da mas espacio para los cables y poder usar una bateria un poquito mas grande con capacidad. Un upgrade super necesario. Saludos desde Uruguay !

It was easier to install than I originally thought reading some posts about remiving the old battery door. Definitely an improvement compared to the old version. I can recommend the battery upgrade. One potential improvement: I use a buzzer for voltage warning which is attached outside on the battery door. It would be cool to have a version where both on the left and right side there is open space left for getting the resp. cables out from the inside the copter.

@ericdamwhite The main purpose of this product is to give you more cable space with the stock phantom or 3rd party batteries. The stock Phantom battery door is 6mm deep, the BIG battery door is 18mm deep so it is possible to fly with a battery that is +/- 10/12 mm longer depending on how much cable the battery has (this is at your own risk). The upgrade does not make the battery opening wider or higher so keep that in mind.

@goldfinger666 The following two methods for removing the battery door pin worked very well for me. Method 1: Take a pushpin with a flat head and cut of the sharp point and than push out the pin with this pushpin. Then on the other side the pin protrudes so you can then pull it out with a pair of pliers. Method 2 (you need a extra pair of hands for this one): Take a long enough thin nail en remove the sharp point. Let someone hold the phantom on it's side and place the edge of the hinge on a table in such a way that the pin is free to come out. Then use the nail and a (small) hammer to gently tap the pin out (make sure you do not damage the hinge on the table). Again you can use a pair of pliers to pull the pin further out.
