Maybe Shapeways can try this one next time. This is a webinar put on by Bunkspeed using Citrix Online. Sorry, I don't know a lot about it but it would seem to be better than a 10-person party!

I do apologize for those of you that missed out, I'm pumped about the interaction though, so it WILL BE MONTHLY from now on.

The go-to meeting might be an option, and maybe even going back to Ustream might work if we can get more people in...though I did like seeing everyone's faces!!

I hosted my first ever Google+ Hangout (during my Minneapolis Shapeways meetup) a couple weeks ago. I really like the format and want to do it again, but I'll change some things so it works better.

If you make the Hangout public, anybody can watch via your YouTube channel, but they cannot participate. They don't even need a Google+ page!

Adafruit runs a popular weekly show called "Ask an Engineer". Most of the show is streamed via Ustream, but they have a "Show and Tell" portion where users participate via Google Hangouts (which I think they stream via Ustream as well). Here are some links if you want to see how they do it.

Shoot, you could just go over to their office in Manhattan(?) some Saturday night and watch behind the scenes! :laughing:

Maybe Shapeways could do something similar where people that want to participate can do so via Hangouts?

It was a test of what hangout could do. We wanted to move away from ustream because of the commercials, especially when ones started to pop up in the middle of a stream. A lot of things fell through with hangout. But we'll find a solution that works best for all.

Guys...Google+ hangouts CAN accommodate more than 10 people that are just watching. Only 10 people can be in the hangout talking at once - any more than that would get pretty confusing.

MAKE magazine has been using Hangouts for the last few weeks for their summer Makercamp. Only a few people are in the hangout, but any number can watch live via YouTube.

Here's Maker Camp hanging out live with the physicists at Cern right now. There are 3 groups of people in the hangout, but many people across the world watching live as well.

BTW, I'm not a gung-ho Google+ fan, but I think it deserves to be explored further than we (at Shapeways) have so far.
