Pen organizer inspired by mailbox design

Hi All,

I have designed this mailbox inspired Pen organizer and I want to hear what you think about it, I haven't seen any thing like this before except for IKEA where they use it for those small pencils. Should I make any adjustments?

Are you planning on printing on a makerbot (because your image says makerbot) or through SW? Through SW, I'd say I'd remove some material. Being that big is going to be pricey. So you have walls that are a mesh design instead of solid. Then you'll also see how many pens people have borrowed and not returned.

Im planning on printing on makerbot, a friend of mine owns a makerbot. The mesh design is a great idea.
Is there a easy way to make the walls have this mesh design?

That depends on your software. You could use 123D make, but I don't know how well that will work on a Makerbot with support material http://www.instructables.com/id/3D-printing-on-the-cheap/

I used the guide and came up with this design. What do you think?
