Dimensional tolerance accuracy of WSF parts?

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by 305931_deleted, Dec 24, 2013.

  1. Does Shapeways have a dimensional accuracy that they promise to maintain on printed WSF models? is there a refund for models that measure off the tolerance range?

are the WSF printers they use professional accurate machines?

  2. You can find the tolerances on our guidelines page here: https://www.shapeways.com/materials/strong-flexible-design-g uidelines
Tolerances for WSF are ± 0.15mm, then ± 0.15% of longest axis.
Tolerances for Frosted Ultra Detail are ± 0.025-0.05mm for every 25.4mm

And you can read more in detail about the machines and their capabilities here: https://www.shapeways.com/tutorials/design_rules_for_3d_prin ting

Different materials use different machines and processes, so the tolerances vary accordingly. You can find tolerances on all the materials pages here: https://www.shapeways.com/materials?li=nav
