er1c@OracleOfTheChicken Hi, this isn't a custom build. it's a packaged quad from Bitcraze - https://www.bitcraze.io/crazyflie-2/
er1c@SportsLiveDecals Hi! I don't think it'd be a simple scale up... the clip on points would be different and the material properties of the frame would start to change (less flex) as the frame members get thicker... I really need to get my hands on an actual Propel HD drone aviation 2.0 to design the frame for it.
er1c@mzillag it is unfortunate especially because there's no way for me to lower the price (it's already very efficient in it's distribution of material... and making it denser to reduce 'machine space' cost just doesn't make sense). thanks for letting me know about crazyflie2.0 though, I had no idea they released a new one. no plans for a 2.0 frame yet... (need to find time to order one and play with it first)
er1c Hi @mzillag, Shapeways introduced a new pricing model Oct last year where the price now takes into account machine space and number of parts (where previously it was only based on material volume). I'm guessing the price increased because of the low material density of the frame, taking up a relatively large space for it's material volume in the printer... http://www.shapeways.com/blog/archives/18119-new-pricing-for-strong-flexible-plastics-and-steel.html
