Need some advice for test printing

  1. Hi there,

I designed a ring that should get printed in Silver, but to make sure it fits and wears well I want to make a test print.
What material would get the same detail as Silver and can be test-driven so to say.

It's the first ring I designed and modelled in my entire life so I have no former experience with this "jewelry" design and 3D printing.
I designed it for my sister's 40th birthday.

Please, I could use some advice. 2012.0002.001_001shapeways.png

Being fairly new myself my $0.02 is to pick the cheapest
material, strong and flexable. It would seem that the
only material that looks like silver would be silver.
So, using the cheap material one can look the product over,
hold it and wear it to see how it would feel.
    Just a thought.
    Looks nice BTW.

  3. Hello Plumguy,

Today I realised I started this thread and a bit forgot about it. What you are writing is what I practically did.

The ring was printed a day ago and I'm really looking forward to receiving it. I will post my progress here on the forum.

Thanks for your reply! See you around ;)
