My model looks fine in 3DS Max, but when I uploaded it to shapeways, the colour of the side of the drawers turns from brown to grey.

I've been using the WRL file format.

Any idea how I can fix this?

one cannot view your model, because it seems to be unavailable for public.

if the model completely grey - without a texture at all, then I´d recommend you unchecking the " put /maps prefix " box when exporting... I cant remember how exactly this box is named, but it´s something like this and is at the very bottom of the export dialogue. Then you´d need to put your texture into the same folder as your model, archive it and upload

Your model is set to private so we can't see it. Is it one shell?

Whoops, I've set it to public. It's all just flat colours, no texture files.

Ok, I see the problem. The bottom part (a dresser?) has 2 objects on the front, and a top. These sit face to face. This messes up the shapeways software. If you join them or put them inside each other so there faces aren't on top of each other, that should fix your problem.
