The fileformat of your object cannot be processed by our software. Please investigate the problem and try again.

    has anyone experience any issues?

    help!!

    Dear Mstyle183,

Unfortunately we are having some technical difficulties with our upload system which prevents you from uploading a file.
Your file is probably correct, but the email will still state that the file is not supported by our system.
We are aware of this and are working hard to fix this as soon as possible.

Please hold on as we look into this and work on a solution.
And I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

  3. I also had an .obj not accepted with the same
error.Iam totally new to the whole process, and so asked my
CAD man to produce a .stl file, but I'm not sure if he
understood my initial request. Can I upload the .stl
file (6.5 Mb) along with a picture of the model(in wood) I made
    to see if they correlate?
    thanks, Ron

Ron, no STL doesn't support textures, so it wouldn't have the mapping information.

  5. Is their a way to find out if .obj file he sent me
is complete,or do I need to wait until the issue
with uploading has been solved, and re-submit?
    thanks, Ron

Yes, download Meshlab (free) and open it up. Make sure the file and any texture maps are in the same folder. It should open up with the texture on it.

  7. (Either I missed a very important announcement, or...)

Shapeways doesn't support textures for OBJ files.

He wanted to know if the OBJ file was correct :p. Once he knows that he can convert to VRML or X3D to get it uploaded with the image. And I'm not 100% sure OBJ uploads don't support images?

  9. Has the upload issue been resolved,
or will there be an announcement when
    it is? thanks, Ron
