    Hi all,

I have printed prototypes in transparent detail and I'm looking for ways to smooth out the surface of the model, and achieve an injection moulded feel.

I have read that acetone vapour baths only work on ABS plastics, but I wonder if any methods exist for smoothing Shapeways materials.

Sanding is not practical due to the small size of the model. Transparency is also desirable for me.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

  2. Sorry for offering such a late reply, but the reason no one has responded to your question is because there is no way to achieve that kind of smooth surface except through sanding. There are 3D printers out there that can come close to giving you the kind of surface you desire, but printing the models would cost much, much more than Shapeways.
