    ?!
You must write somethings about what you want!

Getting a basic model of the toes should be reasonable in a 3D printable format using an organic modeling tool like Rhinoceros 3D.

Have you done any research in to appropriate materials for the output? Considered flexibility, finish, longevity etc?

    How will the toes attach?

Is the objective visual appearance or functionality first - such as flexable points that may be less attractive, but more functional? Are their mechanical requirements to actually provide resistance and function like actual toes?

I would like to help you out with this, I think it is a fascinating opportunity.

    Thanks,
    Sam

  3. Hi Sam, thank you for your response.

Attached you will find a link to a website of a prosthetic company, and you can see a model

    http://www.customprosthetic.com/hfgallery.html

Also, in you tube you can find under the tag foot prosthetics some videos of sock like prosthetic with real look a like toes, im not sure about the material, the toes in this case is more for filling the shoes.

Let me know if you have further questions

Result like the pictures on the site? with 3D-printing? impossible. With 3D-printing you can do many thins, but not like this.

So I don't know about impossible... but certainly experimental - that is part of what makes this interesting!

    Shapeways has a new plastic/process - check out elasto-plastic - https://www.shapeways.com/materials/elasto-plastic?li=nav
The SLS process allows for more open structures to mesh around the shape of your foot - we aren't bound to standard printing support limitations.
Here is an example of the SLS printing process in video:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wD9-QEo-qDk

That said I have not worked with this material - I can't comment on its appropriateness for this application as it is new but we have a couple of things going for us. It is an off white color - so close as a base if you want to have it airbrushed to match your skin tones. It is flexible and stretchy, so it should provide a friction mesh to your foot. It also includes a polishing process which should leave really smooth, natural looking lines on our details. The thicker you go with this plastic - the firmer the structure -so we can have control over the flexibility of the toes, probably go solid on first run, and then scale back from there if you wanted more flexibility. Reality is -given the weight the toe will take, I don't think we can go too firm with a flexible plastic.

If you are interested in moving forward with this please PM me. If you could start putting some pictures together of your foot we can look at doing some rough modeling of it. For some direction on this please visit our web site at http://www.thelostpiece.com/order.htm - that has directions for capturing dimensions.

    Thanks,
    Sam
