fuselage hangs in the price calculator for days but other print service printed it fine

  1. i would like the customer to get all the parts of this model airplane kit from the same vendor, the wings, rudder and other parts came out fine from shapeways but the shapeways price calculator hangs on fixing the thin walls for days even after i manually thickened the yellow areas in my own software, so i sent it to a different 3D printing service and they printed it fine:

here in shapeways it says $112.99, "buy now" but it never got past the fix thin walls even after 48 hours, even after i manually fixed the yellow areas:

can anyone tell me whats wrong? i would prefer to use shapeways because it would be simpler for the customer to get all the model airplane kit parts through the same vendor if possible.

Thin walls check is intended only as a tool, it should not prevent you (or any customer) from ordering. (Though it would certainly be nice if if it timed out gracefully when it chokes on some model, to avoid confusing the uploader). Manually thickening any marked areas (if not spurious) is usually better anyway, as the recently introduced thickness repair will just inflate the offending voxels, which can lead to unsightly "balloon dog" effects unless the correction is very small.

BTW you might want to remove the name of the competing service from your post, just "printed it elsewhere" is probably easier on the nerves of the moderators :)
