Minimum wire size/shape?

  1. I see that white plastic has a supported size of .9mm, I assume this is round? That would have a surface area of about 0.636mm squared.
If I want my wire as a rectangular cross section, for example 1.2mm x 0.55mm, this would be an near equivalent area of 0.66mm squared, does it work that way?
    Thanks!
