Question on model dimensions (Width x Depth x Height)

  1. Hi all, I'm new to this site. I have a question about the display dimensions on a model I uploaded.

Under the model info, it shows the following:
    in: 2.732 w x 3.592 d x 1.902 h

The dimensions above don't match the model proportion. The model is a human figure shape, it seems more like this instead:
    in: 2.732 w x 3.592 h x 1.902 d

Do the dimensions some time get switch? In this case the depth is the actual height?

This is because there is no standard for 'up' in 3d programs. For some it is positive y, for others it is positive z. I think shapeways uses z. If you find that your model is lying down in the preview, just rotate 90 degrees around x and reupload. If it is now upside down, you should have rotated -90 degrees...

  3. The model is in the orientation I wanted, it just the dimensions showing as if the model is lying down. Thanks, just check and make sure the printed model is not smaller than I thought.
