Ah, It arrived one day later but now it's here.

I thought the gold plated glossy was more..., polished. I don't know it the roughness is OK or not.

I'll try to polish it and hope the gold coat don't go away!.

Don't try! The thickness of the gold layer is far too thin to try to sand after the object is plated.

But the model is very nice. Congrats. I guess that if you want it smoother, you should go for silver...

Well, someone of Shapeways told me to try to polish it and see if the coat resisted, he was confident about it and I think I'll follow his instructions. If that goes bad I can always buy another one ;)

Nice Design! I actually like the texture of the gold plating-

I would second the opinion NOT to polish. You will regret it !!!

To get rid of all that texture you will also erase the gold.

Mmmm, I'm now thrilling a bit...

    Would silver got no grain?.

Well that would seem to depend on your luck according to the results I've seen here. There are some really nice pieces and some... not so nice ones. You will definitely have to get the POLISHED silver.
