Hi, on the materials comparison sheet it says that the min. wall for FCS is 2mm. If you then go to the Overview, same thing. But if you go to the Design Guidelines it says: Min Wall Supported: 2mm Min Wall Free: 3mm So is the min thickness actually 3mm? If so, would this not be ideally the figure generally stressed rather than 2mm?
Take a typical garden wall, every so often the wall has piers and the piers support the wall. If you wanted a grden wall without support piers, the wall needs to be thicker to be self supporting. Its the same with FCS. The minimum thickness for FCS can be 2mm as long as there's some support. Paul
I see what you are saying and it makes sense. But how far apart should these supports be etc? If I make what is essentially a plaque, then it seems it must be 3mm. But then there is no consistency across the Design Guidelines: with Stainless the min wall is defined as 3mm, but as you know you can go thinner as long as it is well supported...
