Modeled these up over the last few weeks. Comments/ideas/feedback is very welcome. Wasn't sure really what to call this one.. The base shape I started with was similar to a mobiuos strip. I was thinking mobious tree, but settled on "swirl tree" as a simpler name. There is some banding that shows up in the renders along the outer edge that i haven't been able to get rid of, but it is very slight and below the level of detail for the printers so it shouldn't sow up in the final product. This one should look best in polished strong and flexible. The top piece where a hook attaches is separate and designed to allow the piece to turn. I like the first ornament in particular. I haven't printed in Full Color Sandstone before, so take this with a grain of salt: I bet that if you make a texture for the first model, you could make a really neat design to be spun. It doesn't have to be psychedelic - something subtle would suffice. Even though FCS is apparently brittle, the fact that it is an ornament means that the piece can be more fragile than an ordinary object. I'm obviously measuring with my eyes, but I think the second object is a bit too thin. You might want to thicken the bars a bit and maybe reduce the quantity of bars.
