I'm brand new here and want to make a figurine form my first image. I just uploaded the .obj file, but I'm not sure how to specify that I want the finished item to stand 6 inches tall. I'm hoping there is an easy way to do that. Any thoughts?

You need to adjust the size of your model BEFORE you upload it. Shapeways has no provision for changing the size of your model.

You can download a free copy of the program NetFabb Basic, and it can re-scale up/down as necessary.

Thanks! That software solved all my problems. You rock!

  4. Also, I do not know which program you are using.
But, if you are using Blender, you can configure the size of the squares.

I used the program mentioned here to verify the results of the exported stl file.

All I did was click 'separate units' and changed my scale to .0254 for inches.
    (6in is 152.4mm)

Export your model and verify it in the other program until you feel confident that you are getting what you want.

This topic was the hardest thing for me to start. So, I understand.
    Hope this helps others.
