We are women who love science.
There’s something special about wearing a necklace or piece that represents what you care about. It’s an almost uniquely feminine talisman to take you throughout your day.
When I was studying for Aerospace Engineering, there were very few fellow women in my classes. And while the guys were great, there was this pressure to dress and act a little like them too. I always felt that if I had a little more confidence in myself, things would have been easier. So I built the Starstuff Collective in order to create those special talismans - intelligent and whimsical science inspired jewelry - so women who love science can look at them and remember what they love about what they’re doing, and to help inspire confidence to know they look good while being great at their jobs, and that there is a place for YOU in science.
Look good, do good.
Giving back is also very important to us. A portion of our proceeds will go into supporting STEM education. Whether through workshops or direct donations to select nonprofits, you can feel good about purchasing one of our pieces.
How we make it
All of our products are made in the USA. I either handmake or design each item we sell, so you know it is quality and fits with our mission. For our PLA items, I design and manufacture each piece myself from my studio in LA. For our cast metal items I 3D design them myself, prototype in PLA at home until it is just right (iteration!), and only when I’ve perfected it do I outsource it to be cast in bronze, silver, or gold.
Each piece is made to order just for you so our production times can be 15-20 days before shipping.
