Autism Awareness? I think everyone is now aware of autism. But many challenge that autism is bad. That's because they still don't understand all the facts.
My name is James A MacAlister - but you can call me JAMac (that's jay-mack) - and I'm autistic. Guess who else is/was autistic? DaVinci, Woody Allen, half of Silicone Valley - all autistic. Beethoven, Dan Aykroyd, Einstein, Thomas Jefferson and many, many, many, many more...
But, here's the rub: Autistics tend to get stressed out trying to fit in, be a part of a society that doesn't seem to want to understand them. Anxiety leads to depression, leads to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder - my path in life. Many others turn to drugs or suicide.
So now, the question is, does everyone Accept the strength, beauty and tremendous potential in Autism? Better yet, does everyone Embrace Autism? No? Why not?
You could support an autism charity - give your money to an organization that spends most of its money on advertising and paying its executive staff while doing very little to actually help the issue. Worse yet, one that demonizes us (I'm not lying!).
I have a better idea: Support an autistic. I'm not a charity - I'm autistic, and quite happily so. I run my own business doing a variety of things - videography, drafting services, soundtrack composition, prototyping, etc. One of my productions is this collection of fine pieces available for purchase right now.
So, instead of buying a blue light bulb, show you truly embrace autism... buy one of my wonderful designs found below... and spread the love!
