FineByMe is a side project started by 23 year old, Belgian design student Anton Hendrik Denys. Denys currently lives in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, where he studies at the famous Design Academy. Eindhoven also happens to be one of the main havens of Shapeways.
FineByMe was originally born out of a restless curiosity and interest in 3D printing and all its possibilities - quickly realizing that 3D printing was only affordable for small scale objects. And also fed by the lack, or at least a gap in nowadays segment of manly yet stylish and qualitatively strong, affordable jewelry. Denys decided to design a ring for his own use, with no intention of selling it at all: the Cube Ring.
Only after receiving many positive reactions, both from men and women, on this first design, the decission to put it up for sale was made. The Cube Ring would be the inspiration for many more to come!
Now only focussing on rings, FineByMe offers jewelry that is beautiful in its simplicity - minimalistic designs are often the hardest to come up with as a designer. Gratefully making advantage of his background in architecture and furniture design, Denys puts a geometric calmth and strength in his jewelry. This unisexual character, makes the jewelry appealing for both men and women. Also wanting to state that 3D printed jewelry shouldn’t always be this explosion of organic forms and figures. The printing lines left behind by a 3D printer are already so beautiful on their own.
