Product Description

I used this design to compare the GIA reports when I was looking for a diamond ring. I did the desing to match the perfect Tolkowsky shape and to later set the dimensions of any diamond.

About this diamond design (and history of me buying one), I find out that only few diamonds weight actually what they supposed to. Most of them are below the carat weight in the report. I used the design to match all the angles and dimensions from the report in order to get the most accuarate weight.

Finally I did find my diamond, 0.32 carat, D color, VVS2 clarity, ideal cut and all perfect finishes. With these model I got exactly the weight and did match in the real live. If you wonder why I wanted the perfect weight, 32 is one of my favorites numbers.

So, here is it, the perfect CAD engineered diamond. The diamond is set to 32mm. Enjoy!

Ps1: if you are looking for a diamond, in my personal opinion, its worth more a quality diamond than size, specially if you like to watch it in a magnifiying glass, believe me, its fun and beautiful if you have the right diamond; its quite an experience.

Ps2: the depth of this diamond is 20mm, that makes diameter/depth ratio 1.6, is this the golden ratio? I have to say, this model was quite difficult to make, all with surfaces but parametric. I just love the geometry.

Ps3: if you wonder why so much with diamonds, well, if you look the crown of one, the top, you see the table, which is the big flat face, and then, 32 facets; again, my number =). In the gridle are also 32 archs.
