Product Description
The Katipunan was founded in the Philippines in 1892 to fight against Spanish colonization. Led by Andres Bonifacio, the group sought to establish an independent Philippine republic.
The revolution began in 1896 and led to armed hostilities between the Katipunan and Spanish colonial forces. Notable events include the Battle of San Juan del Monte and the proclamation of Philippine independence in 1898.
The revolution eventually led to the Treaty of Paris, where Spain ceded the Philippines to the United States, marking the beginning of the Philippine-American War.
The Katipunan symbolizes Filipino nationalism, and Bonifacio is a national hero.
