This is a new high-detail version of my previous HMMVW model. All older model kits in my shop with HMMVWs have now been updated. They are no longer available in White Strong and Flexible Plastic. This model is in 1/700 scale. It represents elements of Self-Propelled Artillery Support at a Divisional Level in the US Army. The single sprue includes: 2x M1120 HEMTT Load Handling System, 4x Utility Trucks, 4x Humvees, 4x M992 Field Artillery Ammunition Support Vehicles and 12x M109A6 Paladin 155mm SP Guns (6x in mobile position and 6x in firing position) .
Accoring to Wikipedia: "The M109 is an American-made self-propelled 155 mm howitzer, first introduced in the early 1960s. It was upgraded a number of times to today's M109A6 Paladin. The M109 family is the most common Western indirect-fire support weapon of maneuver brigades of armored and mechanized infantry divisions.
The M109 has a crew of six: the section chief, the driver, the gunner, the assistant gunner and two ammunition handlers. The gunner aims the cannon left or right (deflection), the assistant gunner aims the cannon up and down (quadrant). The M109A6 Paladin needs only a crew of four: the commander, driver, gunner and ammunition loader.
