"Haribo macht Kinder froh – und Erwachsene ebenso"
(translation: "Haribo makes children happy – and adults as well")
The German catch phrase for Haribo brand gummy bears has long been ingrained in my consciousness. These cheeky little renderings are an homage to a childhood favorite sweet. As a youngster visiting Germany in the 1980’s relatives would literally be pile my arms full of bags of what was then still exotic Haribo gummy treats. Designed and produced for my MFA thesis exhibition, YoursTrulyMF, the “Kinder Froh” series of pendants and figurines are part of a larger examination of material value, aesthetics and context and the ever shifting role of the artist as entrepreneur in a product driven world.
Please note: Current prices are for a limited time only to coincide with my exhibition. They may increase in the near future to coincide with my soon to be status as “unemployed.”
