Toilet Paper Technique
The hinge joint alone doesn't have enough strength to hold the plane up, due to grinding amount the contact surfaces of the joint. The initial fitting works fine, but eventually the joint will lose strength after you move it around... 10-20 times. You need something cushion like to prevent the surfaces from grinding...
...Run to the bathroom, and kick the door open! Tear off a small piece of thin layer toilet paper. Wrap the toilet paper around the pin of the hinge joint, and insert it into the ring of the long arm. The toilet paper acts as a cushion and also tighten up the joint.
3 Ball joints
If you look at parts included for the display stand, you will notice there are 3 ball joints. Only one is needed, the other two are extras. Before you jam the ball into the socket, do a light sanding on the ball surface. That will give you the true size of the ball joint. The 3 ball joints are scaled in large, medium, and small size. The medium size works fine for me.
