This model is based on the Klingon D2, also known as "Stingtounge" from FASA. According to FASA, this was one of the first Klingon ships with photon torpedoes during the early 23rd century (TOS). In STAR TREK ENTERPRISE on the other hand we learned that the Klingons had photon (or photonic) torpedoes as early as of the beginning of the 22nd century. If we also conclude that the numbering of the "D" ships is chronological, this ship also has to be prior to the D5 from ENTERPRISE. If we assume, the ship in "Unexpected" was the D4 Class that was first intended to be in that episode, it even predates that ship. So this must be an old design, even during the time of ENTERPRISE, probably only doing 2nd line duties. To fit in that time i added a little more wires and warp nacelles with an opening at the end, a common feature on almost every Klingon ship in the 22nd century. FASA gives a length of 205m. Although this makes this ship even bigger than the D5, i had to keep this size to fit at least 1 full deck into the neck. But this isn't so bad when considering that this early Klingon ship is probably cramped with coarse and big technology and equipment, leaving less internal volume for the crew than any of its successors. I also like to think, that this ship doesn't have a deflector shield but only thick hull armour (maybe polarized like early Human ships as the NX-Class), even further limiting the internal space.

If you need this in another material, size, quantity or combined with one or more of my other parts for cheaper printing, just let me know. I will try to make it as you need.
