The Twisted Pendant is an initial exploration of a perforated thickened surface. The formal geometry is inspired by the twists found in some sea shells and the pattern of perforations derives from the surface’s inherent geometric subdivisions. The twist in the geometry allows for light to interact with the surface of The Twisted Pendant in a dynamic array of conditions. At all times, the light around you will glance of the pendant as the material turns away from the viewer; at the same time, light will be trapped within the axis of the twist, reflecting on the inner surfaces. This lighting effect will truly show off The Twisted Pendant.
Please note the size of the pendant is relatively large [1" x 1" x 1.7"]. The Twisted Pendant is intended to hang from a string or chain around your neck. Morphilophy currently does not provide the string or chain; however just about any necklace string will work. Although any hole could be used to feed the string through, the recommended hole (shown in the renderings) is approximately 0.07" in its smallest diameter [a little larger than 1/16"].
Please also note that the images are default computer renderings; actual material appearance will depend on the selected Shapeways material. The Twisted Pendant may be the perfect product to test out Shapeways’ newest material: Gold Plated Brass. Order yours today and start enjoying your Twisted Pendant!
