IMPORTANT! Your mast must have a Track depth of 23mm and feed slot of 6" x 1/2".
If you have 19mm TD, search for TD=19mm
Catalina 22, Capri & Sport normally have a smaller or larger track depth and will need a different gate insert found on this Shapeways Marketplace. Search "mastgates catalina"

Center the gate insert into the feed slot. Each bottom nipple pin has a 1/16" drill guide hole to help mark the location to drill 3/16" holes in feed slot's back web.
The holes will prevent the nylon insert from sliding in the feed slot when under pressure of the sail slugs running through.
Remove insert before drilling the 3/16" holes, then use a larger drill bit to hand twist for removing burrs aroung the hole.
Top & Bottom end notches of the insert are for squeezing with needle nose of hemostat plyers to pull the insert up & out.
