Product Description
This 1/64th s scale Hay Retriever body can be used for either a straight truck body, or a trailer. The body is for a rig, typically single axle, that goes out into the field to retrieve a small stack of hay. The truck backs up to the stack, the bed raises to a vertical position with the arms folded out. The arms fold in under the stack, the headboard slides down and 'squeezes' the stack, then the bed tilts back onto the truck which then goes to deliver the stack to it's destination. The piece is loaded with operational parts (Bed tilts with cylinders working, head board slides, arms swing in and out.) and as such is pretty delicate. In view of that, I’ve set the file with extra pins and hydraulic rams just in case the buyer breaks something during the build process. One may have to clean the holes for the pins using a drill bit, file or sharp knife, and with all 3d printed items, preparation and checking for fit during the build process is critical. One thing missing is the cables that extend from the upper corners of the arm to the front of the bed itself, which can be easily replicated using thread or wire. There is also a trailer frame available under my manufacturer name that is designed specfically for this bed should you prefer it as a trailer version that will work behind a truck or farm tractor. The set has passed all the checks in three different software programs I use, so I’m confident it will print without issues in the Frosted Ultra Detail material, which is what you’d want to order it in to ensure the details are as crisp as possible.
