US WW I Liberty Standard 3to Truck 1/285

In 1917 the US-Army Quatermaster Corps recognized  that there are too many different trucks in service, so they decided to develop a new standard truck for the military for easier maintenance and supply of spareparts. Together with the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) a first prototype of the Liberty 3to Standard Truck was build within 10 weeks. As soon as possible more thsn ten factories started the manfacturing of the new truck. In 1918 the first trucks entering servive and shipped to Europe, but only a few of them saw action. Many of them are sold to other military and civilian users in Europe and the USA.  Set of 4, two open two with tarp.
Im Jahre 1917 stellte das US-Quartiermeister Korps fest, daß es zu viele verschiedene LKW´s in den Streitkräften gab. Daher entschied man sich, einen neuen Standard-Lastwagen zu entwickeln. In Zusammenarbeit mit der SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) wurde innerhalb von 10 Wochen der Prototyp des Liberty 3to Standard Lastagens gebaut. Schnellstmöglich begannen mehr als zehn Fabriken den neuen LKW zu bauen. Die ersten Fahrzeuge kamen Anfang 1918 zur Truppe und wurden sogleich nach Europa verschifft. Nur wenige dieser Lastwagen haben aber echte Kriegseinsätze erlebt. Nach dem Krieg wurden viele LKW an andere Armeen und zivile Nutzer verkauft. 4er Satz mit zwei offenen und zwei LKW mit Plane.
