Distress calls come from ships, planets, and bases in a remote sector. Your cruiser is sent to investigate and finds a rare life form, a Space Amoeba!

This vast single-cell animal is not intelligent. It wanders around space looking for food, which for a Space Amoeba is energy. While your ship is present, the Space Amoeba will remain in the general area for a short while because it is curious, but soon it will resume movement toward an inhabited planet at high speed. Millions will die!

Not all space amoebas are the same, and the means of eliminating them varies. Your ship will first have to get close (and deal with the damage the amoeba causes) in order for your science officers to study it and determine if it can be destroyed by a suicide shuttle, tractor beams, general damage, or an armed probe. Your science officers might even be able to communicate with it and convince it to go away.

The small Space Amoeba is about 2”; the medium Space Amoeba is about 4”; the large Space Amoeba is about 6”.

The Space Amoeba is available in a variety of materials. It is unpainted, uses a standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, makes a fine display piece.
