Product Description
This kit is designed to help you easily build an ultra-small magracing chassis to fit your existing 1/32 scale, short and narrow model race car body. Fits classic race cars such as Porsche 908/2, Porsche 910, Porsche 917, Chaparral 2C, Chaparral 2F, Lola T-70 Mk II, and Ferrari 512S Berlinetta better than CK1. Kit requires other parts to complete. CK6 is similar to CK1 with the following significant differences:
1. CK6 is slightly thinner and narrower when completely built, so it accommodates narrower bodies with less modification to the interior of the bodies.
2. CK6 has a battery compartment that must be loaded from the top which requires removal of the body.
3. CK6 uses bronze strip for battery contacts instead of magnets.
4. CK6 can navigate slightly tighter corners.
5. CK6 has a maximum wheelbase of 3.30" compared to 3.40" for CK1.
6. CK6 has an adjustable motor mount which makes meshing gears easy.
7. CK6 uses 3/32" diameter front & rear axles instead of 1/16" front and 2mm rear.
Features of CK6 include the following:
Adjustable wheelbase from 2.80” to 3.30” compared to standard chassis with fixed wheelbase of 3.0”. If you need a longer wheelbase you should consider Chassis Kit CK2 or CK5.
1.85” wide frame, same as CK1, but CK6 does not require magnet at end of battery compartment, so CK6 accommodates narrower bodies.
Bottom edge of frame along rocker panel is .05" higher off the track surface compared to CK1, which significantly reduces chance of frame showing below the rocker panel of small, narrow, sports cars.
Frontend design incorporates 1 degree of positive toe and 3 degrees of negative camber which greatly improves handling and lane changing.
20" diameter turning circle accommodates 9" radius guide wire.
Shorter front suspension beams allow for narrower front track compared to original magracer.
Accommodates shorter rear track too !
Fits more bodies with cockpit intact due to thinner profile compared to CK1.
Adjustable motor mount makes meshing gears easy.
Body held to chassis by magnets.
Top loading battery compartment requires quick and easy removal of body to replace battery.
Uses bronze spring strip instead of magnets for electrical connectors at battery terminals.
Does not require removal of any insulation on battery.
Does not require hard to find batteries with magnetic positive (+) terminal.
Does NOT accommodate longer protected 10440 rechargeable batteries.
Weighs less than original stock chassis.
At location of motor just infront of rear axle, 0.585" thick, including motor.
At location of battery, 0.400" thick, including battery.
Use with steering coil, printed circuit board, battery, motor, pinion gear, and some of the screws, nuts and magnets of a standard magracing chassis which you already have. Designed to be used with 3/32" diameter front and rear axles, along with spur gear, wheels, and tires typically used on 1/32 slot cars.
Purchase a few other screws and magnets separately from MagRacingUnlimited, or others.
