Product Description

This propellor is designed to DOMINATE in the Science Olympiad Wright Stuff competition!! As such, it features a special very low reynolds # airfoil, chord distribution, and twist distribution optimized for a national record-level plane. Design parameters are as follows: 2 blade rotor with 24cm diameter, aircraft Lift/Drag ratio=4, 100RPM, 0.45mph flight speed, 10g minimum allowable gross weight -->0.5 mW for level flight. Depending on material choice, two blades weigh about 8 grams in Nylon plastic material. The blades can be easily lightened down to <2g each., however, by drilling out holes or sections of the blade center and covering the holes using thin tape. Note that the blade pitch can be increased for higher thrust or flight speeds with minimal impact on performance. The low design lift coefficient (3 degree AoA) allows for efficient off-design performance).
