I present my simple desk stand, designed to hold Nick's Exclusive Pen - Classic X; a recently completed Kickstarter campaign. The pen did not come with any sort of protection for the writing tip, so I had a go at using 3D printing to come up with a sulution. The stand will also fit Gleo's Prestige - Pen; another Kickstarter pen, which is practically the same design.
This model is suitable for printing in plastic, steel and the cast metals: brass, bronze, silver, etc. The heavier the base, the better it will do it's job, so steel and the cast metals would be an advantage. However the cost of the steel or cast metals is higher than the cost of the pen, so they may not be sensible choices, everything considered.
Due to variations in the machining process of the pens themselves, I cannot guarantee that the fit of the pen into this stand will be perfect, although the stand that I received does fit with the Nick and Gleo pens pretty perfectly.
I also have a pen cap model for the same pen in my Shapeways shop, which allows it to become more portable. The model includes a pocket clip.
