Scutoid Earrings (solid version)

A scutoid is a newly discovered prismatoid shape that has been in the news quite a lot lately. The scutoid shape is one of the several prismatoid shapes that can be found in epithelial cells in nature, and that enable the curvature of layers of these cells. This version of this design will be printed in solid metal. To save material and lower the price I also desinged a version thas been hollowed out at the bottom of the scutoids. You can find that version here. A third option is my wireframe version of this same design, which you can find here.

These earrings are each 15mm high (excluding the ring at the top) and about 10mm deep and wide.

Please note that earrings printed at Shapeways do not come with earring hooks, and you will need to purchase these separately. These types of hooks are generally available in hobby shops and can be easily attached with the help of a small set of pliers.
