Alkane Kit - 40 million X

Alkanes are saturated hydrocarbons, organic compounds made of entirely hydrogen and carbon, in which all the carbon-carbon bonds are single. The generic chemical formula is C(n)H(2n+2), where n indicates the number of carbon atoms. For example, when n = 1 the chemical formula is CH4, which is methane.

This kit includes the following straight-chain alkanes: methane, ethane, propane, butane, pentane, hexane, heptane, octane, nonane and decane scaled to 40 million X. The colors assigned to each element follow the color scheme used by many popular molecular visualizers: hydrogen (H) is white and carbon (C) is gray.
