Scale: although Revell box art and literature state the Revell USS Arizona and USS Pennsylvania model kits to be 1/426 scale, they are actually 1/429 scale as confirmed by Loren Perry, owner of Gold Medal Models and holder of the original Revell documents.  This 3D-printed model is perfectly scaled to match the Revell kits' true scale.

Set includes 4 directors.

Recommended for:

This set of directors is intended to help the modeler convert any of Revell's classic USS Arizona or USS Pennsylvania kits to USS Pennsylvania as she appeared after her major post-Pearl Harbor attack refit.  They can also be used for Revell kit conversions to build USS Nevada BB-36. A set of two Mk.37 directors and one Mk.34 director is also available separately for a very late-war Pennsylvania (click here).

The US Navy Mark 37 Director was used to control the fire of the 5”/38 caliber dual purpose batteries against both aircraft and surface targets, to direct the fire of starshells for the illumination of surface targets and to position the searchlights.

This early "flat-back" (aka "square-back") Mk.37 director featured five observation hatches and three telescope port covers.   Many of these Mk.37 directors were modified to a later configuration (available separately) that had a shielded position for the director captain. These directors were commonly installed on many classes of US Navy and US Coast Guard ships during World War II.   They carried Mk. 12/22 radars (not included).
