This mount will securely hold the GoPro WIFI remote to a standard 31.2mm road bike drop handlebar using the stock keyring attachment. The mount can be left attached to the handlebar or easily removed. The remote can be easily detached by releasing the keyring.
For the most effective grip to the bar to prevent rotation, add a strip of 3m Rubber Splicing Tape 3/4 " (available on Amazon or at a local supply store) around the bar, then snap the mount ring over the tape. This will make the grip extremely strong so it will not slip on the bar. Taping normal electrical tape to the inside of the mount ring will also work, just not as well.
While the mount will hold fine on it's own, adding an O-Ring will ensure that it doesn't pop off during an impact or other severe jolt.
To complete this mount, you will need the following:
- (2) Pan Head Phillips Machine Screw, 6-32 Thread, 5/16" Length (McMaster-Carr #91735A145)
- (2) Flat Head Phillips Machine Screw, 6-32 Thread, 3/8" Length (McMaster-Carr #91500A146)
- Rubber splicing or friction tape 3/4" (recommended to prevent slippage)
- Rubber O-Ring (R-19 to R-25 size - anything in this range McMaster-Carr #9452K77 - Size 23)
