Product Description

In the early 1900s, an ancient shipwreck was discovered near the Greek island of Antikythera. Among the wreckage were mysterious fragments of an intricate clockwork device. The wreckage dates back to the first century BC, though devices of similar complexity don't appear again until the 1400s.

It took decades for scientists to determine the purpose of the artifact. It is now thought that it calculated astronomical data with extraordinary precision for the time. The presence of this historical anomaly forces us to reconsider our assumptions about human technological progress, and begs the question of whether further advanced technology is waiting to be discovered in the past?

The product of a collaboration between educational specialist Kevin Honeycutt and 3D modeler Nathan Towle, this special edition pendant raises the accuracy of the artistic recreation. The minimalist necklace attachment is designed to compliment the pendant, while staying out of the way. The modeler's signature is placed on the back.

This recreation of the main fragment serves to remind us of the past and inspire our futures. What will you do?
