Did you or someone you know study engineering at the University of British Columbia (UBC)? If so, you'll probably remember the engineering cairn.
The UBC Engineering Cairn has existed in many different forms since it was first introduced on campus in 1966. It has been moved, painted, tipped, and even reduced to rubble with heavy machinery over the years, only to be reborn and made stronger every time. A history of the cairn can be found here.
This is a 2-inch tall scale model replica, made from Full Color Sandstone. The model is hollow at the base, and is perfect for sitting on a table, desk, or windowsill.
