Product Description

1:300th scale Tatra 815 VT artillery tractor with tarpaulin raised. The T815 VT range was introduced in the mid-1980s to succeed the T813 Kolos; the VT version has an extended cab compared to the T-815 VVN. The photo showing the painted but un-based model comes courtesy of Fred Oliver, and shows an example printed out in the cheapest default WSF plastic. The other photos also show an example done in the cheapest WSF plastic; note the grainyness of the material; the based-up example was painted by me. WSF is good enough for the piping at the back of the cabs, but if you order this model in WSF, you might get a rejection from Shapeways saying the step/mudguard over the front wheel of each model is too thin - you can see it is slightly misprinted in this model, for example. "Fixing" this is not a trivial task, however... With WSF, you can also see some "stepping" on the top of tarpaulin due to the way WSF is printed: layer by layer. Further, the left-hand side light mounted on the cab roof is missing on my model, probably knocked off during the post-printing processing. "You pays your money and you takes your choice", as they say...
