3788 Scale Hydran Light Gunboat/PF Tender (FDW) CV

The Hydrans are an unusual species that live on the far side of the Klingon Empire, along the edge of the galaxy. They are enemies of the Klingons and Lyrans and were conquered by those empires at one point, only to drive the invaders out decades later. Hydrans breathe methane and live on cold type-S gas giants on silicate continents floating on liquid methane oceans.

The Hydran economy was not able to respond as quickly to changing combat paradigms as the Navy wanted, taking nearly three years to respond to the Lyran deployment of gunboats. Despite extensive experience with both Klingon and Lyran fast patrol ship operations in the intervening period, the first Hydran effort at deploying the new attack craft was limited by the money they could spend for this small tender with only three gunboats. Once real gunboat tenders with six gunboats were in service these small ships were relegated to convoy escorts and patrol duties. Known names include Grim Resolve, Just Cause, and Terrible Command.

This ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
