Product Description

A portion of the gyroid surface, a triply periodic minimal surface, printed only between spheres of radius 2.83 and 3 Pi. It was created in Mathematica, cleaned up and thickened in Meshlab. This surface appears in nature in some butterfly wings, producing iridescence, and in lipid / water structures where the oil separates the water into two domains. In cells, it is found in the endoplasmic reticulum.
